Checking out the Interior of New Four Wheel Camper / 2020 Hawk Shell Model

I picked up this Four Wheel Camper in March 2020. The model is a Hawk Shell 6.5 length for a full size Pickup. It was delivered to the FWC dealer in Bozeman, Montana.

The Shell is very basic, so I was able to customize it for my needs. I ordered it so it would be capable of Winter camping. Furnace, 2 burner stove, 160 watt solar panel on roof, 2 battery system, thermal pack, fold out couch, an extra ceiling fan, Yakima track system for roof rack and I choose the black exterior. Total weight is 945 pounds.
 Couch
 Ceiling fan and couch.
Propane furnace and 2 burner stove.
Stove with flush mount counter top.
 Couch in foldout position.
With the rooftop popped up, the queen size bed over the cab.

Camping in The Blackhills of South Dakota on return trip from Bozeman, Montana. This was in March as a small snowstorm blew in that night. Nice and cozy with the furnace and thermal pack.
A bit of Snowboarding in Wyoming near Togwotee Pass.

Ride on!

Backcountry Snowboard / Ski Trip to a Cabin in Colorado Mountains with a Stop-off in The Snowy Mountains of Wyoming

First day on the snow in the mountains on our snowboards was up in Wyoming at a resort in the Snowy Mountain Range. Good chance to get acclimated to the altitude and get the snowboard legs going.

Two good days in Wyoming with a moonlight night to cap it off.

160 Mile Drive to Our Destination in Colorado
This backcountry trip was human powered with snowshoes and snowboards. It was 3 days at over 11,000 feet in a cabin, carry everything we would need on our back.

Back at the cabin after a very good day of slaying the powder on our snowboards and skis.
The view from the deck on the cabin, a few natural avalanches on the mountains. Found powder without getting into the avalanche terrain.

Good day in the mountains!!

Day 4 / Wyoming Snowmobile Trip

This is the final day of the snowmobile trip to Wyoming. I have been a bit sidetracked the past weeks. Check out the final day of an epic backcountry snowmobile adventure.

Day 4 was a mix of snowmobile experiences and dealing with a bad tooth that flared up the previous evening.

Stuck was included in the snowmobile experience and pain was the experience with the body. Sometimes a person just has to overcome adversity to accomplish the goal. This time the goal was to ride the last day of the trip and then to load up and drive the 1100 miles to get home. The goal was accomplished.

This is my story recap of my adventure with adversity and the good people that I have in my life.

I got home the day after sledding in Wyoming, we drove 1100 miles over night. I was able to get into a dentist on Friday morning a day later and he immediately called my oral surgeon that operated on my broken face 4 years ago. I drove straight to the doctor office. My doctor made the decision to pull the tooth that had a broken root and had become terribly infected. It took a week to recover from the infection and it is still not 100%. It was pretty serious at the time. I am so grateful for my Doctor and his staff, they are the absolute best. The Dentist is a friend of mine that is on the Ski Patrol with me and I am very grateful for his wisdom and for him to come in on his day off and get the process started. Thanks to Weez for taking her day and spending it at the dentist then traveling to my Surgeons office while he put me out and yanked my tooth. Then she drove me home and picked up food and medicine for me. I was pretty wiped out.
Trenching, trees and steep. When you get stuck and it takes digging, the pack, jacket and helmet come off. Not good to sweat and get chilled. That is the reason I carry 2 shovels, 1 in my pack and 1 strapped to the sled. The shovel on the sled is easy to get to and that is the one I use the most.

Some times the solution is to roll the sled out of it's trench and start over again.
Big Larry and his 800 Ski Doo / 163" track alongside my 800 Arctic Cat / 162" track...go big or stay home.
Mitch and his 800 Polaris / 159" track.
Sean riding his 700 Arctic Cat / 162" track.
This shot is the beginning of a 1500 foot climb through scattered trees and increasing steep powder. This was a blast to weave up the mountain, everybody scattered and picked their own line. The climb ended at about 10.500 feet and the top of the mountain.

Day 3 / Wyoming Backcountry Snowmobile Trip

After 2 great days of wind and snow in the mountains, day 3 was sunny and windy. I am one who likes it stormy with adverse conditions. It is good to have the sunny days to scout larger areas with visibility like we had today.

It was a great day to explore the distance mountain ridges and bowls. The winds were howling across the mountain tops just like I like it. Here are a few pictures from today.

Thanks for checking my adventures out.

The views were awesome and the winds were whipping the snow into interesting sculptures.
After many miles up and down the mountains in the backcountry, it was one last downhill to a creek and then head back to the truck. Good day in the mountains...we all came back safe along with some great adventures and deep powder riding experiences.

Good Night...1 more day of riding.
