Minnesota Mountain Biking

The trail rushing by.

It was great to be mountain biking in the woods. 4 hours Saturday afternoon and evening. Got back to the truck around 8:45 PM. Rode in the fading daylight till it was fairly dark. I enjoy riding in the fading light as my eyes adjust to the darkness. I slow the pace and feel the trail and the woods close in. With complete darkness I attached the head lamp to my helmet and continued to the truck.

With a 3 hour ride on Sunday, this is time of the year to raise my fitness for the upcoming snowmobile and snowboard seasons. It is always great to be in the woods during the fall.

Looks like the highway of Lebanon. That trail is so hard packed its like riding a small patch of pavement through the woods. I hardly ride now. I've done the road routes so many times over the summer. The mtb trails are still fun though. I'm thinking river bottoms this weekend, and then maybe over to the Minneapolis rowing club open house. Hunting season is coming soon and Sam and I still want to catch a muskie.

You were close Eric, it was Murphy. I do miss the killer climbs there used to be out here and those high speed descents were great. It is like these mountain bike, edge activities, going up & down, also, mud are very scary (fog horn) to the folks in these parts. Murphy is a wide open twisty trail so you just ramp up the speed factor. It is good to get out in the woods. Overall good trails, Just miss the hurt of an all out climb. Have a good fall and hope you catch that huskie. Happy hunting! Good Times!!
