Howdy,
It's 12:25 AM, Jackman time. I've got alot of catching up to do & some good adventure telling. The mountain bike team of Jeff Hall LLC is on it's way up to Quebec, Quebec, for a World Cup mountain bike race on Sat. the 23rd of June. He has worked his way up to about 140th in UCI World rankings. Seven weeks ago, and thousands of miles of travel ago, he was ranked 464 in the UCI. There will be more to follow!! The guy is on the upward move.
As soon as I can I will have pictures of our travels & adventures. If you go to www.skinnyski.com you can read about some of our travel & race up-dates. Jay Richards has been great at passing the info along.
It is late & we've got to drive for 3 hours in the morning, so more later.

National Mountain Bike Series / #1 Phoenix, AZ

Howdy,
The National Mountain Bike season opener, 40 miles of desert racing! OH YEAH!! Jeff spent 6 days before the race riding in Phoenix.
If you read Jeff Halls' http://www.jeffhallmountainbiking.com/ web journal from February, you could do a little math & come up a 110 degree difference in bike riding conditions (-15 F to +95 F). It's all part of the Big MTB Adventure.
In my case, I spent the 2 previous weeks in the mountains of Colorado, snowmobiling & snowboarding out in the backcountry. We've got a great Country to chase our passions for adventure!

Snowboarding in the Backcountry

Mt. Cat, Snoweasel & a dog called Gunnar take on WY and CO the week of 3-18-07. We find mild temps & a solid snowpack. We dig a avy pit & explore 4 different mountain locations during the week. We even got into some rain as we left the truck on Wed. 3000 ft higher we finally got our fresh snow. Overall a great 2 weeks of sledding & snowboarding in the mountains. This made 4 trips out west this season! GOOD TIMES!!
I transition right into the mountain bike season with the first USA National race in Pheonix on April 1,2007. I'll be busy managing , wrenching & travel planning for Pro XC Racer J. Hall of Salsa Cycles. I'll keep ya posted.

March to the Snowfields!
b

With March comes the first of 2 treks to the Rocky Mountains. The snowpack was deep enough and the weather took a turn for the warm. So that gave us the chance to reach some isolated areas, as the sleds rode on top of the snow for the most part.
With 7 of us out here we spent our 3 days boondocking & exploring some new & old haunts. It was warm enough for a good old brat roast over the fire.
